This award is presented to an individual who has contributed to the improvement in the quality of life for a group or groups of people in a community. Examples are uncompensated volunteer work or heroic or notable generous acts. Nominations should emphasize how the act or service improved the quality of life for the people and, if appropriate, for the community in general.
